Help Dad Resurrect His Publishing Dreams with Help from a Professional Ghostwriter

A professional ghostwriter – a highly skilled wordsmith who quietly writes, finishes or polishes your work in the background while you take the credit – is a shadow warrior of the best kind.

The services of a talented ghostwriter may be just what the yet-unpublished writer needs to resurrect a long-dead project and see it through to publication – or to create an entire project from scratch.

There are several ways a ghostwriter can assist an aspiring author, regardless of where you (or your dad) are in the writing process.

  • Many authors have only a scattered pile of lifeless scrap parts – a scene here, a plotline there, a scattered assortment of lifeless characters – but they aren’t sure how to pull these elements together and bring them to life. A talented ghostwriter will use the materials you give him to build and animate a vibrant book for you, according to your specifications.
  • Other authors have a defined framework for their story, but lack the time, energy, passion or skill to fully flesh it out. A ghostwriter will gauge your personal style and put meat on those bones, creating a fully realized body of work that’s ready to publish in a matter of weeks.
  • Writers often get hung up in the editing stage. The story, the scenes and the characters are all there, but there just never seems to be enough time (or motivation) to revisit it and do the necessary polishing. Rather than let a promising book rot away, let a ghostwriter resurrect it with a thorough edit and rewrite if necessary.

Does Dad have a dusty novel waiting to be reanimated, or an idea for a book that a ghostwriter could breathe life into? Help him accomplish his dream of publishing! Get Dad started with the gift of ghostwriting. An Outskirts Press instant Gift Certificate for Father’s Day may be just the nudge he needs to start or finish his project.

“I plan to get your PR program and help with the marketing as I have the money to do it. You did a great job and I am very happy with Outskirts Press because you made me feel safe with the project. You all did a great job on the book. Thank you for your excellent assistance.”

Charlotte Haile studied the arts at the Washington School of Art and creative writing at the University of Georgia. She has lived in the south all her life and enjoys sharing a good story. The Alexander Treasure is her first novel.

In 1942, Anna Morgan breaks a promise to her father and sets out on Napoleon, an untamed Arabian stallion who takes her on a wild ride to the Alexander plantation-a place forbidden to her because of a longstanding feud between the Morgan and Alexander families. Anna’s adventure leads to the discovery of a valuable pendant-part of a stolen treasure that Andre Alexander brought to Oakwood, Georgia, in the mid-1800s-as well as an encounter with the dashing young Justin Alexander. Despite the feud between their families, Anna and Justin find themselves drawn to each other. But they must keep their love secret, and their union will take them down a path of danger and suspense. Will the Alexander treasure and their families’ greed rip the lovers apart? Or will they find forgiveness and love? Find out in this romantic and suspenseful debut novel-a tale of lust, greed . . . and murder.

Amazon Extreme (3 marketing services, one discounted price)The Amazon Extreme Package puts together three valuable Amazon-centric services into one convenient bundle: 1) an Amazon Kindle Edition of your book, 2) the Amazon Search Inside the Book service and 3) Amazon Cover Enhancement. In addition to an electronic version of your book, this bundle creates a “Look Inside” sneak preview prospective book buyers will use to view a section of your book, as well as a cover image of your book that appears automatically on Amazon and Barnes & Noble upon publication. Each feature of this package is designed to provide very specific, must-have benefits to self-published authors:

1. Amazon Kindle Edition. We submit your book to Amazon Kindle using the process and format required by this service, allowing you to offer an instantly downloadable ebook to readers. This Amazon Kindle service also means all editions of your book will appear in search engine results, thus increasing exposure for your book — and increasing your opportunities to sell.

Not only does this feature entice readers, but it also provides more data about your book to search engines, improving the accuracy of search results for potential buyers. And the best part is that, according to Amazon, authors who activate this feature enjoy a significant improvement in sales over authors who don’t.

3. Amazon Cover Enhancement. Did you know it can take up to 45 days for your cover to appear on Amazon once you publish your title? What wait? Get to selling weeks sooner with Amazon Cover Enhancement. We interface directly with Amazon to submit your cover image, so your cover image shows up on Amazon in just 2-3 days! Submissions Now Being Accepted by Outskirts Press for the 4th Annual Facebook Anthology

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Outskirts Press is putting the call out to Facebook fans to contribute their short literary works for inclusion in Fandemonium Volume 4. The volume is expected to hit shelves by summer.

April 8, 2014 – Denver, CO – In what’s quickly become an anticipated annual tradition, Outskirts Press is once again reaching out to the online community for contributions to its annual Fandemonium anthology, slated for publication in early summer. The Denver-based self-publishing company is accepting submissions to Fandemonium Volume 4 now through April 30.

The annual Fandemonium compilation includes stories, poetry and other short-form literary works submitted by fans of the Outskirts Press Facebook page. For three years now, Fandemonium has brought Outskirts Press Facebook members together to experience the joy of publishing first-hand, while benefiting a great cause along the way. Proceeds from the sale of the 2014 Fandemonium collection will be donated to the American Red Cross on behalf of Outskirts Press and its Facebook fans.

Members of the Outskirts Press Facebook community can submit poetry, short stories, excerpts, recipes or anecdotes for free publication. Submissions can be fiction, non-fiction or poetry, and entries under 5,000 words will be considered first. Getting published in the Facebook Fandemonium is simple:

  • Create a “Status Update” on Facebook.
  • Tag the Outskirts Press Facebook Page in the update (Type @Outskirts somewhere in the body of the message – the Outskirts Press page should pop up in a drop down message. Then select it).
  • Set the update as “Public” and click “Post.”
  • Submit the entry before April 30, and enlist friends to “like” it on Facebook.

Submissions with the highest number of likes will be considered for inclusion in Fandemonium Volume 4. The result of this unique crowdsourcing effort is a collection of superior writing from the Outskirts Press Facebook community, the profits of which provide much-needed funding to a worthy cause.

“We received such an overwhelming response with our first three Fandemonium volumes,” said Outskirts Press Executive Vice President Kelly Schuknecht. “Not only did we get many, many enthusiastic responses – and a lot of positive feedback about Fandemonium – but we received a great deal of extremely high quality material. But then, we expect nothing less from our talented writers.”

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT & SUCCESS STORY

“My decision to publish was spontaneous. I had no idea what was involved and just hoped for the best. Throughout the experience, my questions were answered promptly and what I was unclear about was explained. Because I self-published, I had to make many decisions, which meant I had to be involved and vigilant. The end result turned out better than I could have hoped for. Thanks to Outskirts Press, I was able to make my dream come true.”

Christina Steiner lives in Southern California. She is the mother of two daughters who loved illustrated children’s books when they were growing up. The Sad Tree and Pronuba was inspired by Christina’s visit to the Mojave Desert where she became fascinated by the Joshua Tree and the desolate environment in which it flourishes.

The desert is a lonely place for Joshua, a tree who has never seen another tree like him. He asks everyone in his environment to help him find a companion…but although the desert loves him, nobody can help. Things change for Joshua one beautiful spring night when a tiny moth comes to visit. This exquisite story about the life-cycle relationship between the Joshua Tree and the Pronuba Moth will delight readers of all ages.

– Christina Steiner, author of The Sad Tree and Pronuba
