Announcing the first annual Best Book of the Year Award, which rewards one talented and tenacious author with $1500

July 5, 2010, Denver, Colorado – Outskirts Press, an Inc. 500 company and the fastest-growing full-service self-publishing and book marketing company, today announced the inaugural Best Book of the Year Award, with $1,500 in prize money.

All books published through Outskirts Press in 2010 can be eligible. Specific rules and eligibility requirements are posted at http://outskirtspress.com/bestbook.html along with the manner in which the Best Book Award is determined.

To be eligible for the Outskirts Press 2010 Best Book of the Year Award, books must be published via the Diamond or full-color Pearl publishing packages in 2010, and must receive and accept an Official Outskirts Press EVVY Nomination in the fall. Outskirts Press officially nominates approximately 5% of the books they publish for this prestigious contest held annually by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.

Among the EVVY Award-winning books announced in the spring of 2011, three finalists will be selected by Outskirts Press as Best Book of the Year finalists.  The authors will be notified and the books will receive extensive exposure on the Outskirts Press blog and social networks.  An open vote will determine the winner and will be open to anyone, writer or not, published by Outskirts Press or not. The three finalists are encouraged to call upon their circle of friends and associates to participate in the voting. After all, the Best Book of the Year Award recognizes not only a very talented writer, but a tenacious and savvy marketer as well.

The voting for the Best Book of the Year Award will take place in the spring of 2011 at http://selfpublishingnews.com and the results will be public for all to see. The author of the Best Book Award will receive $1500 credited to his or her Outskirts Press account, good to use as a refund on the publishing package, the purchase of a subsequent package (or two), or marketing services/products to promote the award-winning book.

The Best Book of the Year Award winner will also receive an exclusive Award-Winning cover graphic that will be permanently added to the cover of the book, to promote its status as a high-quality publication and the only Outskirts Press 2010 Best Book of the Year Award-winning publication in the world.

Unlike other book contests that are games of chance or fodder for free publication, the Best Book of the Year Award is a way for a talented and professional author to receive an award-winning publication, $1500 in prize money, and a springboard from which to launch an aggressive marketing campaign.

Visit http://outskirtspress.com/bestbook.html for full details about the award and to get started on your own journey toward award-winning publication today.
