A Leap of Faith or a Surety? Self-Publishing Supports Writers of Faith

April is a month packed full of faith-centered celebrations––with Passover on the 11th, Easter on the 16th, and Lailat al Miraj on the 23rd––and the deep, poignant reflections which so often and naturally accompany them. Traditionally, April is a month of profound religious insight with an emphasis on peace, generosity, and pilgrimages both physical and spiritual.

What better way to honor the tenor of the month than to publish a book borne out of your faith? Practically speaking, there’s no better time of year to do so, and at Outskirts Press we offer a variety of a la carte services in addition to our stellar One-Click Publishing packages for Spiritual and Christian literature, packages tailored to meet your needs as an author of faith seeking to reach readers of similar interests. Whether you’re putting together a work of fiction, non-fiction, or something which defies the conventions of genre, we have something made to order.

Readers are hungry for religious and faith-based literature! Several years ago, Publishers Weekly released some research on the world of Christian books, highlighting the massive success which this particular category of books has had as a result of self-publishing. Says PW’s Andy Butcher, “Christian self-publishing has moved from the Rodney Dangerfield era to the Aretha Franklin age. Once they couldn’t get no respect, but now self-publishers in the category are singing Aretha’s chorus and asserting themselves as an important and viable option for faith-based authors.” And the numbers only continue to climb!

So what’s driving those sales? An ever-broadening range of self-publishing services populated with smart marketing strategies and expert insight from professionals is one driving factor; so too is self-publishing’s movement beyond stigma to respectability, a respectability it has earned in part because the covers get better and more beautiful each year, the content more refined and polished, and the variety of religious books available more diverse. The better the self-publishing services provided, the more authors are able to translate their dreams for publishing into reality.

And we at Outskirts Press are so proud to offer exactly that––quality self-publishing options designed to place your vision for your book at the heart of what we do, to produce the best possible book of which you can be proud––and with which you can inspire your readers with the faith and insight you have found in life. We hope you’ll consider publishing with us, and if you have any questions you can find out more on our website (www.OutskirtsPress.com) or contact us by phone (1-888-672-6657)—or even live chat with us online! Our Publishing Consultants are on hand and eager to set you up for success as you take a leap of faith into self-publishing!

About the Author:author (15)

Debra Ann Healey spent many years as a school teacher witnessing the challenge and struggle many children face as society fills their lives with expectations while she believes that their souls quite often have another calling. My own life experiences as one of those children, my spiritual journey, love of nature and photography as well as a deep connection with the children and the child in us all, has led her  here to teach a different way of educating and preparing children for the true journey of life.

After losing her father at a young age, a deep yearning for connection with him led Debra Ann to discover his presence around her. At first, it was small touches like a gentle breeze across her face but she became more open and receptive to these experiences throughout life, she came to know that Heaven is not so far away and that our loved ones who have left this world are still very close by wanting to communicate with us. Debra Ann uses her spiritual connection and knowledge to bring her three books to life and inspire others to find their true self.

Through the benefits of chakra clearing, she pondered why she had not learn this earlier in life and decided to share this gift with from the very beginnings of their development as not only human beings but as individual spirits and souls having a human experience.

The book is designed to encourage and teach young children from an early age the importance of caring for the body, mind and soul through an early introduction to chakra balancing. cover (63)Heaven’s Not So Far Away: Finding Peace In The Loss Of A Loved One

Death is not an ending but the beginning of a new form of relationship, for life is eternal and no living thing ever truly dies, it changes form. This book signifies the revelation of a truth and understanding about death that the author came to know and experience, after losing her own father at a young age as well as many other loved ones throughout her life. Although people may leave this world in their physical form, no one or no one thing ever really dies, they simply change form and their energy lives eternally. When this is understood, the realization that a new relationship and form of communication is available between us can begin to unfold, if we allow it.
