Self-publishing Outskirts Press author Kevin Simpson is taking his book, $25 Dollar Miracle, on a virtual book tour so you can learn more about him and his book. Kevin will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more.
Kevin took some time out to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we could give you a sneak peek into the financial mind behind $25 Dollar Miracle.
OP: Tell us a little bit about $25 Dollar Miracle. What is it about?
KS: $25 Dollar Miracle introduces a whole new way of thinking. A miracle in the sense, that unlike our outdated JOB system today, where nobody wins, the $25 Dollar Miracle is a system where nobody loses; fail-proof, self-funding, while staying ahead of the constant rise in the cost of living—all created for the benefit of the people and not the system. Unlike other similar ideas that continue to provide a 98 percent failure rate, both online and offline, at the mercy of money-first-leadership, renowned for aggressively attempting to convince people to buy something they don’t need, don’t want and can’t afford, the $25 Dollar Miracle stands contrary to this; the masses need a miracle, they want a miracle. And now, anyone can have a miracle with an exclusive, on-growing, membership package.
OP: Why did you decide to write this book?
KS: In 1996, when I walked away from a multimillion-dollar music management deal after chasing it for 23 years, I left $250,000 of investor debt on the table that quickly became in excess of $500,000. I needed a solution that could not only allow me to be responsible and accountable to my investors, but also a means powerful enough to resolve the debt issues of the masses and put an end to the financial struggles that currently plague those in the nonprofit sector.
OP: How did you get your book published?
KS: I felt for 23 years that my future would be in the country music industry; however, while studying for the Ministry, God told me that I was going to get the music deal I always thought I wanted, but by the time I got it, I wouldn’t want it; He was right!
In September of 1995, at the Country Music Awards Show, I was offered that deal. Months later, I found myself walking away from it. Who’d have thought?
I went on to become a pastor from 2001 to 2007, when God instructed me to begin compiling my notes and experiences from 1996. That was it! He later told me why I resigned from the pulpit, why my zeal for His word was so profound since 1987, why I was recapturing and maintaining notes outside of biblical studies since 1996, and that those very notes would result in the message today found in my book, $25 Dollar Miracle.
Although I considered a number of other companies for publishing my book, Outskirts Press was clearly the choice. I simply knew in my heart that they were the company I was to choose and trust, and not surprisingly, they are genuinely honoring, and if not exceeding, all they have promised.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
KS: If anyone is tired of living paycheck to paycheck, on credit, paying bills and stockpiling debt, like, refinanced car loans, mortgages, or credit cards, etc., then they will want to read this book.
If anyone is tired of not being able to visit family, friends or whomever, wherever, when they so choose because of finances, then they too, will want to read this book.
If anyone is tired of not being paid what they are worth at work, or worse still, tired of being paid the same as a coworker, who does nothing, they will probably want to read this book.
If anyone is tired of having to work a second or third job to make ends meet, then they will want to read this book.
If anyone is tired of hating Mondays and/or living for the weekend or merely despises the thought of heading off to do what they have no passion for doing, then they will also want to read this book.
If anyone is tired of multiple failures in life and/or business and has promised themselves to never again trust anyone or anything, then these people, are strongly encouraged to read this book.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
KS: This book is not about money, the love of it or chasing it; it’s about preservation of dignity and freedom. Nor is this book about its author or seeking some favorable position of political influence or power. This book is more about introducing accountable, people-first, God-fearing leadership, as well as the solution to a serious problem. It offers not only the power to remove global debt, hunger and put an end to nonprofit fund-raising challenges, but to allow the a change the opportunity to introduce itself.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
KS: Yes, I have published other books as giveaways and for educational purposes. I absolutely do plan to publish other books in the future.
OP: Thanks for your time, Kevin! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
The author’s all time favorite quote is from the book of Philippians 2:3 that says: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.” Since July of 1996, after walking away from an estimated multimillion dollar music management offer, leaving $250,000 of investor debt on the table, growing to over $500,000, life was suddenly no longer about Kevin, but rather, about being accountable to his investors, the masses who carry debt, and putting an end to fund-raising nightmares.

Are you an author looking for help to market your self-published book?
As an author in this economy, you have to come up with creative ways to market a self-published book. While book tours are a great way to connect with your readers, they aren’t the most affordable method of promotion. However, technology has made it possible for an alternative.
Take note from self-publishing Outskirts Press author, Joanne M. Rypma, who is taking her latest book, Know God and Love Him, on tour – a virtual book tour, that is. She will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about her and her book.
Joanne was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so we could give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Know God and Love Him.
OP: Tell us a little bit about Know God and Love Him. What is it about?
JMR: This prayer book offers you an opportunity to reflect on God and your relationship with him. It will help you to experience his presence and power in your life, and encourage you to trust him completely in all you say and do. You will read about some of God’s promises and his love for each one of us. Whether you are preparing for a pastoral ministry or you just want to meditate on the Word of God, these prayers will assist you on your spiritual journey and bring you closer to Him. Scripture passages from the Old and New Testaments are included in these prayers. The readings used on weekends in church for the Liturgical Years A, B and C each have their own prayer in this book. You will find that through my prayers your heart will be opened up to God’s love in such a way that they will help you grow in holiness. Through the night and through the day, my heart and mind are searching for the way. Rest in the heart of Jesus and let His truth guide us through the mysteries of life. Each day let us celebrate the gift of life God has given us.
OP: Why did you decide to write this book?
JMR: I was attending a Bible study class at my church and the priest would ask the parishioners attending this class to say an opening prayer. Week after week no person volunteered so I went home and wrote several prayers that I would say as an opening prayer each week. Everyone loved my prayers and told me often how much they meant to them. I was amazed at how my prayers were helping people in a very personal way, and also enabling them to begin talking to each person there about their personal spiritual feelings.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this book?
JMR: These prayers can be used for private reflection or shared with others at religious gatherings.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
JMR: I believe God the Holy Spirit inspired me to write this book of prayers. There are many benefits to reading a prayer book, but ultimately we will only get out of prayer the transformation we seek if we are open to listening to God guiding us.
OP: Thanks for your time, Joanne! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

OP: Tell us a little bit about Faith, Stirred not Shaken. What is it about?
RDF: Exploring the dark space between science and religion. This is the dark space of inquiry that we’ve left since science split from philosophy about 400 years ago.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
RDF: To propose a new dialog that allows science and religion to work together to find new explanations of our universe.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
RDF: Those who know that humankind is on an unsustainable trajectory. Those who know that contemporary religion is part of the problem. Those we can still think for themselves in this age of amplifying resonance from echo chambers disguised as the news media..
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
RDF: This is not the usual theist / atheist argument. That argument is irrelevant because it consists of two proposed explanations of the unknown. What they’re missing is the significant difference between the unknown and the unknowable. Theists and atheists are arguing about the unknowable and proposing that one explanation is right and the other is wrong. We can’t explain the universe from our position in it.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
RDF: I’ve published You, Your SELF and the 21st Century and The Flowers were Talking to Me. Yes, I will continue to write and publish.

The Life Story of a Very Lucky Man, on tour – a virtual book tour, that is. He will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about him and his book.
OP: Tell us a little bit about Cancer It’s a Good Thing I Got It! The Life Story of a Very Lucky Man. What is it about?
DK: My book is about my life… my childhood and growing up, my adventures as a young man, my varied and successful business careers, my love for my son and my family… all the things that made me the kind of man who could successfully battle and survive a terminal cancer diagnosis. The book tells of my duel with cancer from diagnosis, through surgery, chemotherapy, and my ultimate recovery and ongoing war with chronic pain and other side effects of having survived. Throughout the book, I share my personal philosophies on life, success, and the one true thing that matters in this life… our personal relationships. I also include tips for those going through cancer or other serious illnesses and for those who care for them.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
DK: I looked death square in the face when my doctors told me I had less than 9 months to live and should “get my affairs in order.” I know, first hand, that the “someday” we all dream of doing this or that, may never come. I wrote the book to encourage people who are fighting cancer or other serious illnesses to be positive and focus on something to live for. For those who have been fortunate enough not to face serious illness, I wrote the book to encourage them to recognize that someday may never come. TODAY is someday! Live your dreams, now. Tell your family you love them, now. Heal old wounds, now. When our time is up, all we get to take with us is a heart full of memories of those most dear to us. No one on their death bed looks up and says, “GOD just one more day please, just one more day in the office and I can finish that Thompson report.” No, they ask to have more time with their family and friends.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
DK: My book is for more than just someone suffering from a serious illness or adversity. It is of interest to friends, family members, caregivers, and medical personnel (one reader actually reads passages from my book to his staff at staff meetings!). It is also for anyone who is looking for inspiration to transform their own life. I ran away at 15. Never graduated from High School, yet I became a very successful business person and even served as an adjunct professor of law at Denver University College of Law. In this way, my story appeals to people in the business world as well.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
DK: My book is written in a conversational style. As if we were sitting in my family room sharing a glass of wine. It is a deeply moving and personal account of my life, my love for my son and my unfailing ability to believe in something greater than myself. Readers will come away ready to create the life they have been dreaming of.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
DK: Yes. I am working on the next book now, having completed the first several chapters. It is based on the workshops that my wife Carrie and I teach. With years of gender studies and as PAX licensees, we work with men and women to help them create meaningful and lasting relationships at work and home.

Luckily for us, David was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of The Eternal Child.
OP: Tell us a little bit about The Eternal Child. What is it about?
DW: My book is about a fugitive vampire who has been on the run for his entire existence. He suddenly comes to the rescue of a young woman who had been attacked by what appears to be an animal. For some reason he decides to stop running, and stays with her. He integrates himself into her life, and gets to know her friends, and is finally able to pursue a human-esque life. That is until vampires from all over the globe catch up with him looking to collect his bounty. The true essence of the book is this: For every vampire, there is one human, one human in the entire world who can make that vampire a human again, but the catch is, they may come at any time, and only once. If the human dies or becomes a vampire, then that vampire will never get another chance to become human again.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
DW: I decided to write this story, because I feel somewhere in the recent years, vampires have been stripped of what makes them what they are. In my opinion, vampires are the most dangerous of the mythological creatures. They are all about seduction and corruption, not to mention they have all of these illusionistic powers. I wanted to bring that back to vampires, and I hope I did.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
DW: Hopefully the readers that are big on fiction and heavy sci-fi, but I feel it could appeal to all kinds of readers, the story is much, much more than just vampires.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
DW: Personally, what I feel is special about my book is it’s heart, the human connections these non-human creatures make with ordinary human beings. What I feel differentiates it from other books in the same category, would have to be the depth and emotion behind the characters, especially the vampires. Because it shows how such an inhuman thing can feel human emotions stronger than most human beings could.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
DW: I have not published any other books, but I plan to publish two sequels of The Eternal Child.
OP: Thanks for your time, David! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
