Luckily for us, Dee was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of The Hangman Returns.

OP: Tell us a little bit about The Hangman Returns. What is it about?

Dee: The book is about Kente Cromwell Sr. At the end of The Hangman, he is returned to Purgatory to finish serving his time and hopefully, enter Paradise. However, back on Earth, five years have passed, and a sorcerer named Damian Red has murdered Cromwell’s wife in search of the Ring of Light. This sends, Kente Jr, who has the ring, on a vengeful killing spree. But Kente is using the ring to kill both supernatural creatures and humans alike. This forces BA, the Bad Angel, to go to Purgatory and help the Hangman escape in hopes of reigning in Kente Jr. At the same time, the demon lord Hangoctuforre, who is responsible for giving the Hangman his powers, is plotting to launch another assault on the Earth. He has gathered an army consisting of the fallen angel Comet, Damian Red, vampires, and demons. This brings together the vampire slayer, Jericho Caine, the demon hunter, Father Tom Padilla, and the wizard Alexander Merryweather. Joining the fray is a new hero, Susan Taki, a master of kung fu. She also possesses a supernatural ability of her own. Now they must convince the reluctant Hangman to join another war once he deals with his son.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

Dee: I decided to write it because the Hangman was always meant to be bigger than just the Hangman. There are several novellas about the supporting characters in between The Hangman and The Hangman Returns. I call it the Hangman Universe or HMU.

OP: How did you get your book published?

Dee: I got my book published through Outskirts Press. I trust them with my work.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

Dee: The types of readers that will be interested in my book are people who like good versus evil type of books. They are people who like shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or shows like Supernatural and Legacies.

OP: What is special about your book?

Dee: What’s special about my book is that none of the heroes are just purely good. They are flawed, but still know that the evil they face must be defeated.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

Dee: What differentiates my book from the rest is that I’m not afraid to explore having the bad guys win. I’m not afraid of showcasing the vulnerabilities of the heroes and showing them as regular human beings.

OP: Have you published any other books?

Dee: Yes, I have published other books. My first foray into writing was a love story entitled, Forbidden Love. My second book was entitled Cloning Around.
As I said before, then came The Hangman and the Hangman Universe, starting with: The Hangman, The Grand Librarian: Life of an Immortal, Father Tom Padilla: Curse of the Demon Priest, Jericho Caine: Dakota Rises, and The Bad Angel: Redemption.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

Dee: Yes, the HMU has taken a life of its own. My next novella, following The Hangman Returns is called The Grand Librarian: The Future Wizards. It is currently in the editing process. That will be followed by The Death Brothers: A Supernatural Awaking. It focusses on Jericho Caine and Father Tom Padilla. Both novellas deal with the fallout from The Hangman Returns.

OP: Thanks for your time, Dee! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

Luckily for us, Dee was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of The Bad Angel: Redemption.

OP: Tell us a little bit about The Bad Angel: Redemption. What is it about?

Dee: The book is about an angel, Artherial, who is charged with guarding purgatory as a punishment for centuries of mistakes. He is given a mission from the archangel Gabriel that would relieve him of those duties if he completes it. The archangel Michael is missing and BA has to find him and the makers of the drug TAAB, which uses Michael’s blood in the formula. The drug is being sold by a being known only as the Peddler. However, other supernaturals are drawn into the story, some of which are from BA’s past. BA enlists the help of Jericho Caine, the vampire slayer, Father Tom Padilla, the demon hunter, and Alexander Merryweather, the Grand Librarian and wizard. Together, they use their skills to do battle with the Underworld and the Peddler in an epic showdown.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

Dee: I wrote this novella because it is part of the Hangman Universe (HMU) and is the last part of Stage II. Stage III picks up where The Bad Angel leaves off with The Hangman Returns.

OP: How did you get your book published?

Dee: I self-published my books through Outskirts Press.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

Dee: The types of readers that will be interested in this book are readers of fiction, fantasy, and supernatural thrillers.

OP: What is special about your book?

Dee: What’s special about this book is that it challenges the reader to go beyond what they already believe about angels, vampires and demons.

OP: Have you published any other books?

Dee: Yes. The HMU as I’ve stated, so far, is in three stages. Stage I: The Hangman. Stage II: The Grand Librarian: Life of an Immortal, Father Tom Padilla: Curse of the Demon Priest, Jericho Caine Vampire Slayer: Dakota Rises, The Bad Angel: Redemption. I have published two other books unrelated to the HMU. They are: Forbidden Love and Cloning Around.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

Dee: Yes, I plan to publish more. Stage III of the HMU starts out with The Hangman Returns. I am also working on a space opera entitled, Travel Through the Stars.

Cloning Around by Dee Rose Virtual Book Tour

Cloning Around book cover

OP: Tell us a little bit about Cloning Around. What is it about?

DR: The book is about Special Agent Robert Bassett, who, constantly tries to live up to the name of his legendary father, Reed Bassett, who was also an FBI agent. In this case, a scientist, Dr. Richard VanHellman, has finally uncovered the way to create clones. He intends to rule the world by murdering, and then cloning it’s most powerful people. Dr. VanHellman has the unique gift of reading people’s minds, of which he also uses to control his clones. Once Robert realizes the buried link between himself and Dr. VanHellman, the mission becomes personal. Robert then finds himself, not only fighting for his life and the lives of others, but also fighting for the Bassett’s family honor. With subplots galore, ranging from missing journal pages containing the cloning process and the way to stop VanHellman; Robert’s mistrust of his own department in the FBI; and flashbacks of Robert’s connection to VanHellman; It all leads to a highly anticipated showdown in the place where it all started over twenty years ago.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

DR: I decided to write the book because at the time, the issue of human cloning was very big and I wanted to put my own special twist on it.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

DR: I think any fan of thrillers will be interested in this book, along with people who like action and plots that will leave them guessing.  It also has a supernatural feel to it as well so fans of that kind of story telling may also like it.

OP: What is special about your book?  What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

DR: I believe what sets my story apart from others in it’s category is the way the story is told.  It switches from the present and past flawlessly. I honestly feel that when people read this book, it will be hard for them to put it down.  The action never stops and I think the readers will be so invested in, not just the main characters, but the supporting characters as well.

OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?

DR: Earlier in 2013, I published a romance novel entitled, Forbidden Love.  I plan on publishing a fantasy novel at the end of the year or early next year entitled, The Hangman.  I also plan to pen a follow up to Cloning Around, which will focus on the main character, Agent Robert Bassett, following his cloning adventure.

OP: Thanks for your time, Dee! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
