Luckily for us, DONNA GIBBS CSJ was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of THE SEAMLESS UNIVERSE: A DISCOVERY GUIDE THROUGH OUR GREAT HERITAGE.

OP: Tell us a little bit about THE SEAMLESS UNIVERSE: A DISCOVERY GUIDE THROUGH OUR GREAT HERITAGE. What is it about?

DONNA: It is an inspiring origin story that promotes a healthy Earth/Human relationship through poetic narrative, vivid illustration, and sacred experiences.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

DONNA: In 2010, I switched from teaching one grade level to teaching the entire elementary school science program. I created this version of the emerging Universe story to help ground, increase meaning and connect the Kindergarten through eighth grade curriculum.

Teaching science based knowledge and science skills develop in my students the ability to influence everything that happens to living Earth. I believe a “planetary wisdom” to help them form an “Earth-identity” would be beneficial as they learned the standard Science curriculum

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

DONNA: I wrote it in a format that would enable a young reader to grow with the story. Parts of the narrative are for reading aloud to the youngest and as the child grows, they learn more and begin to experience their personal connection with Earth.

OP: What is special about your book?

DONNA: It has evolved from my own advanced studies in Child Development, Earth Literacy and Art Therapy.
I myself engage in the experiences as they open an ever-new wonder and appreciation for all that is.

OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?

DONNA: Yes, The Quilter and the Quail is a true story about a woman who raised two wild quail. It follows their life in juxtaposition with the life of the wild quail. As the babies grow, the reader begins to understand how humanity links with wild nature.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

DONNA: There are very few books in this category. Surprisingly, adults seem to enjoy this book as much as the child and glean a new appreciation for our place in the Earth community.

OP: How can someone learn more about your book or purchase it?

DONNA: Any questions about these books can be sent directly to me: seamlessuniverse@yahoo.com
Both books are available from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Bulk orders can be made through me and/or Outskirts Press.

OP: Thanks for your time, DONNA! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
