Luckily for us, David D Bernstein was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of “Rebirth: The CORT Chronicles Book 3.”

OP: Tell us a little bit about Rebirth: The CORT Chronicles Book 3. What is it about?

David: Over one hundred years in the future, eleven-year-old Andy and his brother Zack come home to 2009, hoping to live normal lives. Yet something has gone wrong, they get back to a terrifying version of their hometown. In this edition strange new technologies have taken over and an underground city is about to reborn. The brothers find them self in a different world that they left. They must set out on a quest to save Trinity, New York, and Earth again. They need to find the source of this chaos and destroy it.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

David: I wrote this book to help people escape from the hard life and stress they are going through for the last one and half years, but especially with the Covid-19 epidemic. This virus continues to change lives forever. Yet, there is still hope at the end of this dark tunnel. This book looks at a world that is changing rapidly and going into the light. I hope this final chapter in my trilogy will bring an optimistic view of the world to children eleven to sixteen and to everybody who are losing hope right now. I also believe this book and my trilogy will change lives forever.

OP: How did you get your book published?

David: I got this book self-published through Outskirts Press and like my other books had an amazing experience going through this process. The staff was great and helpful throughout. I recommend them to any new author who wants to get there book out into the world.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

David: This book is a wonderful read for children eleven to sixteen and adults that love a great story. I believe it is a book anyone will love.

OP: What is special about your book?

David: “Rebirth” is special because it looks at the world in a different view. It is fast paced, action packed, great living characters, emotional and it shares an important message with everyone that is found rarely in other books in its genre.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

David: Every book that is published is different from others, because individuals have different stories they created. This is because every person sees their own world differently. The books they publish also create different worlds and characters.

OP: Have you published any other books, and do you plan to publish more?

David: I am the author of a book of poetry “Voices of The Heart” and two picture books: “The Enchanted Rope” and “Peanut” both cover real life situations. I also wrote a middle grade novel called The Portal the first book in the Cort Chronicles Trilogy. This book received a CIPA Merit award in Juvenile Fiction in 2018. A hardcover version and an audio book have published in 2021. The next two books “Spirral” and “Rebirth” came out in Spring 2021. He also had several poems published in magazines and anthologies and is the recipient of five Editor Awards. I do have plans to publish more books in the near future.

Virtual Book Marketing in a Self-Isolated World

Even though Covid-19 may have brought the majority of the world to a virtual standstill (figuratively speaking) that doesn’t mean your virtual book marketing has to stop (literally speaking). In fact, with many of us finding ourselves with a bit more time on our hands, right now is the perfect time to double-down on book marketing tactics that replace the physical world with the digital age.

Here are 5 ideas to get you started right now (from the safety of your home, of course).

1. Throw a Zoom Launch Party

Zoom is certainly in the news a lot nowadays. Even though the video conferencing app has been around for a while, the recently imposed “stay-in-place/work-from-home” mandate affecting millions has created unprecedented demand for the digital platform. Its user base has soared, and with it, a new phenomenon known as “Zoom Bombing” in which nefarious individuals drop into pre-scheduled video conferences unannounced to wreak havoc. But such shenanigans shouldn’t prevent you from taking advantage of this new shift in marketing philosophy.  A Zoom Launch Party is easier and less expensive to launch than a physical party and has the potential to reach more people more efficiently. Facebook Groups are Subject- or Geographic-Based Communities on the world’s largest social media platform. That means there are usually (or potentially) lots of participants, regardless of how niche your subject matter seems or how isolated you feel nowadays. 4. Guest Post on Other Blogs

More people are reading more blogs during self-isolation because they’ve got to stop reading about coronavirus sometimes, right? And that means more bloggers are getting more followers than ever before. But with more eyeballs comes an even heavier responsibility to create more content. What is a blogger on the verge of going viral (in a good way) to do? Solicit help! And that’s where you come in. Conduct a Google search to find blogs on your book’s subject matter and then reach out to those bloggers with offers to write guest posts for their blogs. You’ll be surprised at how often they are grateful for the help — and you get to plug your book to their entire readership in your “Byline Box.” It’s win-win.
