Self-Publishing Author Spotlight: Robert Lovelace

Outskirts Press works hard to help self-publishing authors make their dreams come true, and we’ve had had the good fortune to work with many talented and successful individuals over the years. For that reason, it’s important to give a nod to the authors who’ve, in turn, contributed to our success. Every now and then, we celebrate one of our successful authors in our Self-Publishing Author Spotlight.

This week Outskirts Press proudly features children’s author Robert Lovelace. Lovelace is a veteran, family man and the self-publishing author of three fiction and family/relationships books through Outskirts Press.Robert Lovelace

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Robert Lovelace is retired from business and the United States Army, and fills his time writing. He served in the Army Medical Service during his entire Army career. His medical experience during his Army tenure in and after World War II gave him the opportunity to successfully own and operate nursing homes in San Antonio and Mason, Texas, after leaving the Army. The author is a family orientated individual as is his wife, Betty, and their three children, Tommy, Nancy and Allan. He also has two grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael, and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Madison. Robert Lovelace’s life is family, and depicts that in his books.

JIMJIM

JIM deals with an individual who was a marijuana and alcoholic addict from the age of 6 until his 17th birthday. His family was so busy with their business they did not know what was going on. Impossible??? No, not this day and time. When he decided to be rehabilitated his family rallied around him and the family became one of the closest knit families anyone could hope for. Jim became a doctor like his father and his wife and sister were RNs. He became very interest in a church program he organized to help those who were like him and had the desire to be rehabilitated. He never forgot to give God credit for his good luck of overcoming his addiction. The outcome is unique and interesting with God getting the credit along with a short time friend in a foreign country and family love.

The novel JIM stresses family and gives a picture of a family being dysfunctional before becoming so closely knitted that it was difficult to let outsiders such as friends and visitors get close to them. Estrangement from grandparents finally came to a conclusion with their death and made their heirs more closely knitted as a family. Jim’s entire family except his mother was affiliated with and worked as doctors and nurses in the medical profession. The family in the novel “JIM” is a wonderful example of “family love and caring for each member.”

The Incredible MindThe Incredible Mind

The following excerpt shows what the life of the individual is all about. “A kid with an old mind in his brain.: “Mom, getting my doctors degree when I was a kid has taught me a lot of good lessons on growing up physically and has enumerated the pitfalls of adolescence. It is not that I would not like to try the things the indulging kids my age are crazy about but I still feel like a king being in control of myself. I do not feel that I was ever a kid except when we lived in New York. I do not let it bother me but I sometimes wonder how it would have felt or whatever. I know that someday I will find a lady that I will love forever and then I will let you know. How is that?” I explained to her.”

My Darling DaughterMy Darling Daughter

“Phillip, this is just one leg in your worldly education on travel. Just you wait until Dr. Long might decide he would like for you to go with all of us around the world. Now that is traveling. We have had two trips around the world and seen different places each time. You will just love it,” Gary said. “Mr. Irving, I don’t think I could take it. I would be afraid I would die and never get back home,” he said. Everyone laughed and I said, “Phillip, you would be too busy to die. That will be the last thing on your mind. The ships have everything to keep you busy as well as just talking with all of us and friends you will make on the ship. We would probably not let you out of our sights as you might decide to stow away and never be found.” “Why would I ever think of a thing like that? I would probably never let you all out of my sight just in case something did happen. I love life and I can see that with all of you I am going to love it more. My parents will never believe what I tell them when I get back home. Junior, you are so quiet I did not hardly know you were with us,” Phillip said.

A Stone Is CastA Stone Is Cast

“A STONE IS CAST” depicts how a family can become so close due to protection from kidnapping, even murder.

“A STONE IS CAST” is the protection of a family who moved from New York to the State of Arkansas after inheriting a fabulous fortune from the grandfather when he died. Kidnapping and attempted murder was prevented by a family member who was familiar with Law Enforcement and Security .

“A STONE IS CAST” is the third book about a family the author, Robert Lovelace, desires to show as an ideal example for everyone. It goes from a normal medical family to one in which a genius son is born and from the age of 7 required and receive protection from the time he graduated from high school at the age of 8 until he graduated as both a Medical Doctor and a Lawyer at the same time at the age of 17. Protection of the entire family and especially the boy throughout the entire novel is intriguing.
