NYT Holiday Books Edition Features Author Toletha J. Dixon’s ‘Fiend’

For twelve Outskirts Press authors, this is proving to be a very exciting time of year — the time when their books appear in the annual the New York Times Holiday Books Edition. Published each December, this edition of the NYT Book Review is a special edition co-op ad that places your book ad front and center before millions of readers. This special holiday ad represents a unique — and rare — opportunity to gain priceless visibility, just in time for the holiday book-buying boom.

The New York Times Holiday Books Edition is distributed to nearly 5 million people, and in the pages of that edition is the Outskirts Press co-op announcement (featured at the end of this blog post). Today we shine the holiday spotlight on author Toletha J. Dixon’s thriller, Fiend.

FiendFiend

Sit back and watch a child’s disheartening memoir from his own point of view. Nine-year-old Jacob Setherman has been tortured and beatened by an unstrange presence every night during the past year. Neither his mother nor stepfather, Angela Setherman and Keith Adams, can help him. Jacob is faced to defend himself alone as this Fiend becomes more and more hateful and terrorizing.

One of the advantages of on-demand publishing has always been “low inventory.”  Outskirts Press recognizes this by always offering our authors their low, below-wholesale author price on quantities of just 5 at a time.  With Outskirts Press, there’s no need to buy massive quantities of your own book just to get a below wholesale cost.

But many of our authors are having such extraordinary success with direct sales that we want to support those wonderful marketing efforts by offering even greater savings for larger orders.  Now, you can save up to 50% off your already-discounted author copy base price when ordering your book in larger quantities through your Author’s Center.

Specifically, full color (Pearl) books and hardcopy books in single order quantities of 2000 or more will receive a 50% discount on the author copy price.

Black/white paperback books ordered in quantities of 2000 or more will receive a 35% discount.

The discounts begin at 1000 copies for hardback books and full-color (Pearl package) books.

Let’s take a look at an example. A 24 page full-color children’s book that retails for $13.95 and has an author copy base price of $7.64 is already receiving a 46% discount.  By taking advantage of the additional 50% savings, the author’s price drops to 3.82, which is an amazing 73% off the retail price.

To take advantage of these discounts, order the appropriate quantity in your author’s center and read the additional information that pops-up on your screen. This information includes details about alternate production schedules and turnaround times for these drastically discounted books. The quality remains the same superior OP quality you are accustomed to.
