Outskirts Press Is Getting an Upgrade!

Outskirts Press

The relaunch of the NEW Outskirts Press website is scheduled for August 1. With the relaunch comes all new publishing packages, branding, and messaging.  Our new suite of publishing service icons will prominently feature a new “O” when the new publishing packages are introduced on the new website.  This “O” will also play a small role in the graphic design of some of our advertising efforts, both online and offline, as we roll out new advertising and marketing campaigns.  Some other upgrades include:

  • Using one consistent trade-marked logo everywhere — the “stacked” version
  • Featuring a rotating header image that features our monthly publishing, marketing, and writing promotions
  • Offering a menu at the top that links to our shopping cart, our contact us page, our author login page, and our bookstore

We will continue to help authors develop and publish high-quality books by offering exceptional design, printing, publishing, distribution, and book marketing services. Stay tuned for updates before we go live on August 1, 2016.

Outskirts Press Makes Inc’s 5000 Fastest Growing List for the Fourth Year in a Row

Inc., Magazine’s annual list represents an overview of the most robust companies in America, despite the current, less-than-robust economy.   Whatever these companies are doing, they’re doing it right.  Their median growth rate was 97%, they created more than 400,000 jobs, and they grossed nearly 300 billion dollars.

Placement on the prestigious list is based on revenue growth from 2008 through 2011, and Inc’s tally reads like a roll call of America’s business powerhouses.  Over the years the list has included such notables as Intuit, Go Daddy, Timberland, Microsoft, Patagonia and Oracle, to name a few.

“We’re honored, of course, to be included once again in such a stellar collection of entrepreneurial stars,” said Brent Sampson, CEO of Outskirts Press.  “Inc. Magazine’s acknowledgement of our continued expansion is a testament to our commitment to  our quality, customer service, and value, and just goes to show what is possible when you bring highly talented authors together with highly-talented publishing artisans.”

Outskirts Press first appeared on the Inc. 500 list in 2009 as the 268th fastest growing company in America.  In 2010 Outskirts Press was on the Inc. 5000 list again at number 1266 and again in 2011 at number 3088. For the fourth year in a row, Outskirts Press ranks in the top 5000 at number 4530 and continues a healthy annual growth rate of twenty percent.

Outskirts Press’ four straight years on the Inc. list shows the company’s continuing vanguard status in the self-publishing industry, an industry that is itself doing more than its part to buoy up the economy.  87 percent of all books produced today are put out by small presses or self-publishing companies.  The number of non-traditional books produced in 2011 increased by 169 percent, while the growth of traditional publishers was only 5 percent.  In fact, 8000 to 11,000 publishers enter the market every year, and most of them are self-publishers.

Within this competitive field Outskirts Press has maintained its sturdy and stable growth and continues to be the top company authors choose when they have decided to go the self-publishing route.

Outskirts Press Named Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Company

Outskirts Press, the fastest-growing full-service self-publishing and book marketing company, today was recognized once again by Inc. Magazine in its annual Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private businesses.

“As an Inc. 5000 honoree, Outskirts Press shares a prestigious pedigree with such notable alumni as Microsoft, Timberland, Under Armour, and scores of other powerhouses,” according to Jane Berentson, Inc. Magazine’s editor-in-chief.

The 2011 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. Additionally, they have to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies. The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million.

2011 marks the third year in a row Outskirts Press has appeared on the list.  Outskirts Press first appeared in 2009 with a ranking of #268, and in 2010 held a ranking of #1266.  For the third year in a row, Outskirts Press lands on the Inc. 5000 in 2011, with a ranking of #3088 and a three-year growth rate of 65%.

“We are honored once again to be named to the Inc. 5000,” said Brent Sampson, CEO of Outskirts Press. “This is a true testament of our commitment to quality, customer service, and value for our authors.”

The announcement comes on the heels of the recent launch of the Outskirts Press app for the iPhone 4 and the recent introduction of e-books for the iPad with iBooks Distribution option. Learn more about Outskirts Press at http://outskirtspress.com.
