Hi, I am Kasey, and I love writing, but let me tell you a little about me. I am now semi retired and decided to write full time. I am one of two children both girls with strong Native American backgrounds, I hold the following degrees, BSN, MA, & MBA. I write non-fiction and poetry. This book has a few of the poems that will be in the book of poetry.
ABOUT THE BOOK
At that moment I knew he would be mine forever. Albeit I wasn’t sure in what capacity yet.
After watching him from across the room for two hours I found enough courage to approach him and introduce myself. We talked for two hours, I talked for two hours, he listened and answered three questions. Standing perfectly still moving his feet to the music with constant eye contact for that time. I decided he was not interested and decided to take a walk outside and he opted to escort me on my walk. From the magical kiss until that first call it was the longest days of my life. I kept saying have faith and if you believe he is your “Destiny” he will call. Did he, when and what happen? So, I called the friend that he introduced me to at the party and asked her to give her buddy a call and give him my number. He called two days after receiving the message. He kept my number in his wallet this tells me he is a person who marches to the beat of his own music. His best friend told me, he is one of the greatest people to have in your life. His best friend is female, they have been friends since Junior High School.
Outskirts Press: Tell us a little bit about “The Saturday ‘Nite’ Pick-Up” My “Perfect Love”. What is it about?
Kasey: “The Saturday ‘Nite’ Pick-Up: My “Perfect Love” is about an intimate relationship lasting 48 years. The book is close to a biography or a memoir. This love tale started in June 1971. The time when finding real love was difficult. But a gentle, sweet kiss made it happen.
The book tells the story of a young nurse who fell in love in her early twenties. It is not about a hero, super women, or any magical character you would see in movies. It is about an ordinary girl, a nurse by profession, an ordinary being who found her love, the perfect one. You will read every trivial issue which surrounds love. You will feel the rewards of pure love and how it can change lives between the lines.
You will notice the relatability of love. Some events will resonate with you; some will contradict your point of view.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
Kasey: You will see why I decided to write the book at the end of the book.
I wrote the book to show Perfect love does exist. The book also talks about ways to see love. We often miss moments of love.
OP: How did you get your book published?
Kasey: Self-published through Outskirts Press.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
Kasey: Romantics, young adults, people searching for the meaning of love.
OP: What is special about your book?
Kasey: Seeing real life examples of what perfect love is like. There are several examples
in the book and the theme of perfection runs through the book. Example, I never
open my car door when we are together. I never pull out my chair or walk in the rain. You see
glimpses of perfection throughout the book.
OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
Kasey: It is a real-life love story that talks about destiny and the part it plays in this 48-year relationship.
OP: Have you published any other books and do you plan to publish more?
Kasey: I may publish a book of poetry derived from the book.
