Self-Publishing Author Spotlight: Cordell W. Mitchell

The life of a self-publishing author isn’t always an easy one — though it can be more rewarding than almost any self-guided pursuit known to man. Outskirts Press has had had the good fortune to work with many talented and successful individuals over the years as they strive to make their self-publishing dreams come true. For that reason, we feel compelled to give a nod to the authors who’ve, in turn, contributed to our success. Every now and then, we celebrate one of our successful authors in our Self-Publishing Author Spotlight.

This week Outskirts Press proudly features Christian writer Cordell W. Mitchell. This prolific self-publishing author has penned a half-dozen books in the Snapshots of Christ series (the first with his wife, Odena) with Outskirts Press. Here, we highlight Mitchell and his inspirational work.

Snapshots of ChristSnapshots of Christ: In an Ordinary Life

As you read these pages, you will walk with us in the life we lived over a fifty year period. Only those times when we knew that the Holy Spirit had dealt with us, spoken to us, or sent an angel are included. We knew that He had always been with us since the word says: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matt. 28:20) These were the times when God seemingly intervened in our life in a manner that made us to know that His presence and power were with us through every struggle of life. We lived a life of prayer, fasting, reading the Scriptures, and receiving help and deliverance from angelic ministry. Our lives may seem extraordinary to any reader who reads these experiences, yet what we lived and experienced was only what the ordinary Christian who seeks after God will experience.

Snapshots of Christ in 1st KingsSnapshots of Christ in 1st Kings

This book will turn on a bright light as you see 1 Kings with Christ at its center. If you are a pastor, teacher, or preacher hundreds of diamonds await you to pick up and expound on them. To the young ministers in third world countries, this book was written specifically for you to open your eyes to the seed truths in Exodus of Christ and their fulfillment in the New Testament. The greater knowledge you have of the Scriptures, the greater will you see in these snapshots. Author Cordell W. Mitchell assumes your knowledge is wide and has made the subject quick and to the point, waiting only for your hand to expound on it for your hearers. You hold in your hand much of the results of Mitchell’s quest in searching for Christ in the Scriptures. His snapshots are in every book of the Bible waiting for you to behold His face. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27)

Snapshots of Christ In DoctrinesSnapshots of Christ In Doctrines

The great doctrines of the Christian faith are here in a page or two so pastors and teachers of third world countries will be able to grasp and comprehend the great doctrines of the Christian faith. Each of the twelve major doctrines will be cut up into easily digestible parts. Most of these will apply to any Christian Church. If they are controversial I have tried to point that out as to who accepted or rejected that stand and why. If the reader faces a doctrine they do not understand or do not believe based on their church background, I have encouraged them to put it aside and go on to grasp the totality of the concept. You will soon realize that you indeed grasp the total doctrine, with almost 400 points of doctrine cut into small parts of the twelve major Christian doctrines. My own background of Baptist and Spirit-filled movement of course affected my writing and I have tried to make it clear when it did so. No effort was made to try and slide any doctrine into this book in disguise. I pray you will see my sincere desire to give the reader a real comprehension of the Doctrines of the Christian Faith.
