Author Stephanie N. Prountzos is taking her book The Nature of Kindness, on tour — a Virtual Book Tour with Outskirts Press. This will allow Stephanie to take her book into the far corners of the globe, all from the comfort of her own home! Keep an eye out for Stephanie’s book as she will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead!
Luckily for us, Stephanie was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of The Nature of Kindness.
OP: Tell us a little bit about The Nature of Kindness. What is it about?
Stephanie: The Jovie series starts with The Nature of Kindness, which allows the reader to learn that daily actions on a local level can make a helpful impact. It promotes a sustainable, imaginative and respectful lifestyle for kids.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
Stephanie: My entire life has revolved around caring for animals and our natural world. My vocation/career is animal care and advocacy, and with that, daily compassion fatigue ensues. Writing has always been an outlet of mine, so I decided why not put my love of animals, children, and our environment together in hopes to educate about respecting our surroundings.
OP: How did you get your book published?
Stephanie: It was a long journey of rejection, so I decided to self-publish with the help of Outskirts Press.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
Stephanie: It is geared for children, but all ages can love Jovie!
OP: What is special about your book?
Stephanie: It teaches the reader to find their inner advocate and know that with respect and kindness, you alone can make a difference.
OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
Stephanie: It’s honest and relatable. It has whimsical illustrations, and the poetry narrative is fun to read.
OP: Have you published any other books?
Stephanie: I have not.
OP: Do you plan to publish more?
Stephanie: I hope so! If readers like The Nature of Kindness, Jovie has endless possibilities.
OP: Thanks for your time, Stephanie! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Stephanie N. Prountzos is from the San Francisco Bay Area, and her entire life has revolved around caring for animals and our planet. With a degree in Geography focusing on Environmental Studies from SFSU, Stephanie is a former Wildlife Rehab Technician and is currently the Practice Manager at a Veterinary Hospital in the North Bay. With years of working with both domestic and wild animals, it became evident that the love and respect for animals and our natural world was lacking unto her. With compassion fatigue being her driving force, Stephanie decided to put her outlet of writing, love for children, our planet, and wildlife together, in hopes to make a helpful impact on the youth for our future. With the love and support from her husband, Noti, and rescue dog, Whiskey, Stephanie hopes to teach every individual (both young and old) to find their inner advocate and know that with kindness, and respect, you alone can make a difference.
