As an author in this economy, you have to come up with creative ways to market a self-published book. While book tours are a great way to connect with your readers, they aren’t the most affordable method of promotion. However, technology has made it possible for an alternative.
Take note from self-publishing Outskirts Press author, Latifa Hazim-Rogers, who is taking his latest book, Six Months or LESS, on tour – a virtual book tour, that is. She will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about her and her book.
Luckily for us, Latifa was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Six Months or LESS.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Six Months or LESS. What is it about?
LHR: At first glance, the characters seem to live normal lives and appear to be law abiding citizens, but they are anything but. My book centers around five central characters, who’s lives all intersect, cumulating into a deadly, explosive ending. Despite one of the main character’s death early in the book, her spirit is unable to rest, and despite her warnings and gentle nudging, her friends and family don’t listen; so she watches and waits as they each join her in death. One. By. One.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
LHR: I love writing and it has always been a dream of mine to become a published author. I love writing stories that are very unpredictable and have the element of surprise.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
LHR: Readers who like unpredictable stories, multiple character’s with the element of surprise in a fast paced manner, with lots of plot twists and turns.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
LHR: My book is special because I incorporate a lot of feelings and emotion into my character’s. I have thirteen years of hospice experience so I was able to capture the emotion’s Page went through after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. What makes it different is that I add a little humor and incorporate social issues that plague us all at one point or another, whether it directly affects us, or someone we may know or have known. I do this through dialogue between the characters and a little bit of background information, but I do it in an exciting, on the edge of your seat, page turner style. My experience working as a death investigator with the coroner’s office for almost a year and a half allowed me to create some of the scenes in the book, as well as my experience as a Registered Nurse.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
LHR: Do you plan to publish more? This is my first Novel and I plan to get started on the next one soon.
OP: Thanks for your time, Latifa! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
