Blueberry Bubble Gum by Mahamad Ali ElFakir Virtual Book Tour

As an author in this economy, you have to come up with creative ways to market a self-published book. While book tours are a great way to connect with your readers, they aren’t the most affordable method of promotion. However, technology has made it possible for an alternative.

Take note from self-publishing Outskirts Press author, Mahamad Ali ElFakir, who is taking his latest book, Blueberry Bubble Gum, on tour – a virtual book tour, that is. He will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about him and his book.

Luckily for us, Mahamad was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Blueberry Bubble Gum.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Blueberry Bubble Gum. What is it about?

MAE: School’s out, and Max is gearing up for a summer of baseball with his friends. He’s expecting fun in the sun and long, lazy days. But to his surprise, he finds himself transported to a strange and wonderful world after chewing magical blueberry bubble gum—bubble gum his parents warned him not to chew! Join Max in his adventures through Blueberry Bubble Gum World and meet the fascinating creatures who live there—the Blueberry Boy, King Erudition, and the lumpy, moldy green evil Waywards. Will Max learn his lesson and find his way home? Find out in this thrilling journey!

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

MAE: I was inspired by my children to write this book. We like to tell stories and I decided it would be great to write a book that had a great story to get a child’s imagination going all while teaching important life lessons along the way.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

MAE: I believe that this is a great book for the entire family. It can be used as a platform for teaching children about telling the truth and following rules. Kids that hear it or read it will love Max’s adventure and they will learn the lesson without feeling like they just sat and got lectured.

OP: What is special about your book?  What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

MAE: I believe my book is special because it takes the reader to a magical new world all while teaching a lesson along the way. I believe that there are many great books in the same category as my book; I really like how my book teaches a lesson in a fun way.

OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?

MAE: Blueberry Bubble gum is my first book that has been published. I am in the works of having two more children’s books published; The Ancient Secret of the Leprechauns and Stinky Fumes. Both books should be out in the winter of 2014.

OP: Thanks for your time, Mahamad! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
