Over the years, these authors have racked up a number of accomplishments, awards, author benchmarks and recognitions that serve as a testament to the quality of their — and our — work.

In recognition of the talent of our authors, we like to showcase a different author in our regular Self-Publishing Author Spotlight. This time around, we’re giving a nod to self-help author Donald Gall, who has published three books through Outskirts Press: Memories Are Made of These, I Beg to Differ! and Believing, Behaving, Becoming. We expect even more great things in the future from this accomplished non-fiction author.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:Donald Gall

Donald Gall is a 40-year veteran of the struggle for peace and justice, having come of age as a young clergyman at the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in the early 1960s. Swept up in the currents of social activism sweeping the country at that time, he soon left the local parish to immerse himself in the issues of racial justice, war and peace, and the equal rights of all people — all of which are issues that continue to challenge the moral courage and direction of our nation today. Gall, who is the author of several books and magazine articles, is now retired and lives in Eugene, Oregon, with his wife Jan, close to where their children and grandchildren reside in the Pacific Northwest.

Memories Are Made of TheseMemories Are Made of These: Storied Meditations on Life Experiences

Through a process of reflective meditation, the author recalls many of his past experiences in life and draws from them a deeper meaning for today. Gall’s skill as a story-teller, combined with both the common and exceptional circumstances he describes, make this an entertaining and inspirational read for a broad audience.

Believing, Behaving, BecomingBelieving, Behaving, Becoming: Pastoral Perspectives on the Christian Life

Believing, Behaving, Becoming is a book for those who find the traditional language and trappings of Christianity increasingly irrelevant to their life in a post-modern world and who still hunger for spiritual meaning and purpose. Insisting that the heart will not worship what the mind cannot embrace, Gall argues for an experiential Christianity that is focused on relationships rather than dogmatic certitude and which offers new hope and insight to “believers in exile” from the church they once knew and loved. As a skillful preacher and writer, Gall’s book will be manna in the wilderness for anyone who hungers and thirsts for new insight into what it means to believe, behave and become a Christian in today’s world.

I Beg to Differ!I Beg to Differ!: Engaged in the Struggle for Justice and Peace

I Beg to Differ! is an incisive look into many of the issues that defined the latter half of the Twentieth Century and that continue to challenge our religious and moral sensibilities today.
