In 2005, Outskirts Press CEO Brent Sampson wrote and published Self-Publishing Simplified, a “how-to” publishing guide that not only demonstrated the advantages and quality of on-demand publishing, but walked prospective authors step-by-step through the publishing process.
A lot has changed in 4 years, so a second edition of Self-Publishing Simplified was necessary. For example, in all of 2005 Outskirts Press published approximately 200 books. They have published more than that in the last 2 months. In fact, 150 new authors began the publishing process with Outskirts Press in January alone.
New production and marketing options have been introduced, including our original custom illustrations and Global Book Tour package, to mention just two. In fact, in 2005, we didn’t even offer full-color printing, and now we have the extremely popular Pearl full-color package, perfect for children’s books, cookbooks, art books, and more.

Self-Publishing Simplified needed an update. Now the second edition is complete. The revision has been sent to Ingram for distribution and should soon be available through all the worldwide distribution venues Outskirts Press is famous for, including online with Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and wholesale distributors like Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Bertrams, Gardners, and others.
Of course, the updated ebook edition is still free from within your Author’s Center without obligation. Simply click here to sign-in or sign-up for free.
