Tis the season for giving. And sharing. Why not share your book with others so that they may give your book as a gift to everyone on their shopping list!
The holiday season is the biggest consumer buying peak of the year. It’s not too late to maximize your book marketing strategies this holiday season. To help you make the most of it, here are three tips to help you market your book painlessly and profitably for maximum impact:
- Go Local: For those authors who are comfortable meeting and greeting readers, the holiday season is a perfect time to reach out to libraries, bookstores and coffee houses who are often open to inviting a local author to read a chapter of their book. Asking two or three of your friends to join you that day-to sit and listen-will attract other store patrons and before you know it, people will be buying your book and asking for an autograph. Be sure to have business cards or other promotional materials available to handout.
- Host A Party: Consider doing a Pre-Holiday “Coffee & Tea with the Author.” Invite your friends, family and neighbors. This morning or afternoon gathering could be in your home-or the home of a friend or two. It could also include a time for you to read from your book and/or invite book buyers to have their photo taken with you, the author.
- Give and You Shall Receive: Have you met another self-published author and/or read their book? The saying-two are better than one-is true when getting the word out about your book. Consider posting a review for that author’s book, mentioning it on your Facebook page or in a Tweet. If their book is a similar genre to yours, ask them to read your book and post a review for it as well.
With these great holiday marketing tools and ideas your book sales will reach new heights!
Give the gift of self-publishing!
