Aerial, a Blue Jay that is slow to learn to fly but becomes the fastest Blue Jay in the region. Tries to see just how high he can fly, but gets lost as a result! That is where the real adventure begins. Tired and hungry, he almost becomes dog food! He gets pawed by a cat, caught by a little fat lady, imprisoned in a box, he remembers home and the mischief he did. He loved his family – will he ever see them again? Then his escape and life springs eternal. He meets the most beautiful Blue Jay he has ever seen and his heart is opened. He makes a new home, has a new life but is haunted by his past. Will he ever be able to connect his new life to the old?
Larry W. Wessels, retired Air Force pilot and middle school teacher, loves flying, loves teaching, loves wild life and loves writing about it. Air Force assignments included flying in Asia and in Europe and taking it all in. Teaching in Illinois middle school made him aware of students reading likes and dislikes.
