Outskirts Press is regularly impressed with the creativity of our self-publishing authors. It takes a great deal of discipline and devotion to produce a book — much less several! Today we tip our hat to a mother-daughter writing team responsible for several a series of inspiring memoirs — Cheryl Cusick and Jamie Lynn Cusick.
Together, the Cusicks have published four books through Outskirts Press that center on Jamie’s experiences with a neuromuscular disease, as well as the stories of others with similar experiences.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Cynthia’s Story: Her Words of Fear, Strength and Courage
The author of From Where I Sit: My Life and Struggles with Friedreich’s Ataxia and Is It Too Controversial? Be Enlightened By My Deeper Understanding of the Meaning of Life presents Cynthia’s Story, the story of a girl in her senior year of high school who is diagnosed with FA and finds out firsthand what it is like to go from being popular and active to really depressed and unpopular. IMPORTANT NOTE: Friedreich’s Ataxia is a slow, progressive neuromuscular disease. What has happened to Cynthia in this story is just that – a story. Jamie Lynn Cusick Presents “The Oddball Out”
What are your morals? What is your reasoning for doing a “good” action and a “bad” action? What is the difference, if any, between “right” and “wrong?” Is there such a thing?
My name is Jamie Lynn Cusick. I am a 34 year-old woman living with Friedreich’s Ataxia. FA is a life threatening neuro-muscular disease. The following are some actual events that took place in my life. I previously wrote about them briefly in my autobiography, but I feel that I should elaborate on some of the stories, hoping that others will stop and think about how their actions and words may make others feel.
