As an author in this economy, you have to come up with creative ways to market a self-published book. While book tours are a great way to connect with your readers, they aren’t the most affordable method of promotion. However, technology has made it possible for an alternative.
Take note from self-publishing Outskirts Press author, Dwight Slaughter, who is taking his latest book, Inner City Strength, on tour – a virtual book tour, that is. He will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about him and his book.
Luckily for us, Dwight was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Inner City Strength.
OP: Tell us a little bit about Inner City Strength. What is it about?
DS: My book is about a young impressionable kid that goes through mental, physical abuse, racism, murder and betrayal.
OP: Why did you decide to write this story?
DS: I wrote the book to allow me to rid me of my many demons and help those that are suffering in silence with mental and physical abuse, molestation, racism, betrayal and murder.
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
DS: Many generes of people will be interested in a great read from all walks of life, whether young are old and any nationality.
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
DS: It takes you into how someone can go through many challenges such as physical/mental abuse, molestation, betrayal and murder all in one life. The hardest times of my life and I over came the tough obstacles, I know this can help a youth are adult who’s going through because of real and true life experiences, and don’t feel there’s a way out. If you fall down get up and finish.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
DS: This is my first book, I do plan to publish more books, and I’m just getting started.
