Michael Birt is self-publishing a book with Outskirts Press. And he wants your help with the book cover.
Kody, a Chocolate lab pup, loves to make friends but when he runs into a Texas Tortoise named Tori, can he help his new friend Tori cross the black wasteland and find his family?
Michael Birt was born in 1987 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved throughout his childhood until his military family was stationed in Texas. He was the youngest of three children. Ever since he could remember he’s had a passion for wildlife and conservation. He attended Texas A&M University where he obtained a degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences. He has taken part in several conservation projects including one with James Cook University in Australia dealing with the Great Barrier Reef and the highland rainforests of northern Australia. He published his first research with the Fort Worth Zoo at the age of 18. He then worked at the Fort Worth Zoo for two years. He now resides in Stephenville, Texas with his faithful conservation pup Kody pursuing a masters degree in animal science at Tarleton State University.

This looks awesome Michael! Glad to see you’re doing well and still passionate about the animals 🙂
I like Book Cover Option B Michael. It would make a good cover, more attractive and can see the message clearly in the pictures too. I’m a local female Journalist practicing in the various field of Journalism for at least 23 years. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism Degree at the University of PNG. I live in Papua New Guinea as I’m from here. That’s a country in the South Pacific region. I completed my Secondary Schooling in Brisbane city in 1986.
Good luck for your book and the cover. I should also be sending my first book for publishing anytime this month of October or September the latest as I’m waiting for my Visa Card to be processed by my bank here. Its my Autobiography how God raised me in the wilderness for 20 years titled: Woman of Integrity.
I would like to have a copy of your book once completed. I will look out for it as one of my best girlfriends is a Conservationist Biologist and she works for the Department of Environment and Conservation here in PNG. I always encourage her to write about the animal Kingdom who can’t speak for themselves. Great, keep in touch and my friend’s name is Ms Rose Singedan maybe she can help you promote/market your book in PNG for the school children here. I like your book just by reading the cover. Its more humorous. Great! And, good luck.
Thank You! Your book sounds like it will be very interesting and enlightening. If you have a Facebook page please like my page and my books page so we can stay in touch. I would love to talk to your friend Ms Rose Singedan about my book and future series. Here is a link to my books Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/kodyconservation.
I am really impressed with your endeavor, Michael. Almost wish I was still teaching so I could use your book in my classroom. I voted for cover B. I think it is less cluttered and would be more appealing to young readers. The lettering is easier to read.
They are both beautiful covers, but I chose B. It would definitely grab my attention if I saw it on a shelf somewhere! You are doing a wonderful job at this book business stuff, and I can’t wait to read it! Keep it up! 🙂
Michael Birt, I choose B because it represents the Pup conserving the earth..May God Bless you with this book becoming a number one seller. Lonneice Weeks-Badley
Thank you very much! I am just amazed to be this far. This will be the first book of many in a series that I hope will revolutionize the way we go about teaching kids about nature and conservation!
You gave me an idea too so I will have to do the same for my Book Cover but definitely I would go for Book Cover Option B. More outstanding and eye-catching.
