2009 Annual Self-Published Fiction Book Awards

As a published author, you have a seemingly endless list of book awards and contests to investigate.  The way to determine which ones are worthwhile and which ones are a potential waste of time is to explore each one separately and research it on its own merits to determine if it is a good match for your published book.   The Outskirts Press Marketing COACH has done this for a number of contests already and for those that we recommend, we bring to our Outskirts Press authors’ attention specifically via email, or on our newsletter, or via this blog.

However, there are many more book awards and contests that may very well be worth pursuing on your own. With that in mind, when those awards or contests come to our attention, we’ll mention them here on this blog, too. You can research them and either choose to enter them, or not, as you see fit.

The Santa Fe Trail Creative Arts Guild announces their 2009 Annual Self-Published Fiction Book Awards.

One grand prize winner receives $500 and a plaque.
One second prize winner receives $100 and an award certificate.
One Honorable Mention receives an award certificate.

Winners will be announced and posted on the Creative Arts Council website at www.creativeartscouncil.org on April 1.

The deadline for this year’s contest is January 31, 2009.  Visit www.creativeartscouncil.org for the entry form and rules.  Good luck!
