Galagamous: The Galactic Garbage Collector by Julia Irwin

It takes is a little thinking outside the box and you can market a self-published book in creative, affordable and impactful ways. Consider book tours! Tours are a great way to connect with your readers and technology has made them easier and more cost effective than ever!

Author Julia Irwin is taking her latest book Galagamous: The Galactic Garbage Collector, on tour — a Virtual Book Tour with Outskirts Press. This will allow Julia to take her book into the far corners of the globe, all from the comfort of her own home! Keep an eye out for Julia’s book as she will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead!

Luckily for us, Julia was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Galagamous: The Galactic Garbage Collector.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Galagamous:The Galactic Garbage Collector. What is it about?

Julia: Galagamous and Fizobot are two very relatable characters who touch on the universal theme of acceptance. Learning to be accepted by others and accepting of oneself. Despite being bullied, they take on a task that others have rejected. By doing so, their actions reflect the true heroes they have always been.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

Julia: As a Psychiatrist, I have found that most individuals are receptive to learning lessons via stories. Often times, a simple story allows one to get in touch with their inner child. We are all touched by negative events that occur when we are young but these events do not have to dictate who we will become. It is our actions that will always define us. Actions reveal the core of who we really are.

OP: How did you get your book published?

Julia: I self-published through Outskirts Press currently.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

Julia: Readers of all ages can learn life lessons from this book. I wrote it in such a way that adults can read it with children so that questions could be addressed aloud. It encourages interaction between the reader and listener.

OP: What is special about your book?

Julia: This book is special because of the way in-depth content regarding, emotions, differences, and choices, are discussed.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

Julia: This book is not preachy or negative. Instead it is positive, accepting and empowering.

OP: Have you published any other books?

Julia: No I have not.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

Julia: Yes, in time.

OP: Thanks for your time, Julia! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

Marbles – Eye of the Tiger by Myrna Doreen White

Technology has created a wide variety of ways to reach audiences all over the world. It takes is a little thinking outside the box and you can market a self-published book in creative, affordable and impactful ways. Consider book tours! Tours are a great way to connect with your readers and technology has made them easier and more cost effective than ever!

Author Myrna Doreen White is taking her latest book Marbles – Eye of the Tiger, on tour — a Virtual Book Tour with Outskirts Press. This will allow Myrna to take her book into the far corners of the globe, all from the comfort of her own home! Keep an eye out for Myrna’s book as she will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead!

Luckily for us, Myrna was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Marbles – Eye of the Tiger.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Marbles – Eye of the Tiger. What is it about?

Myrna: When Kyle, his mother and cat, move from San Francisco to India, Kyle’s life changes – a lot. And not just because his new city is so different from what he’s used to. Kyle’s life changes because of the people he meets, the mystery of the marbles, and the mystical events that happen. Finding a marble with special powers sends Kyle on a quest across his new city, and deep below it, where animals talk. Kyle and his new friend end up in a jungle that is filled with these animals and one who has lost his eyesight, which only a special marble can repair.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

Myrna: I find that boys, especially, are less able to ‘find something to do’ on their down time, Whereas, girls have an array of activities, like doing things with their hair, making fancy girly things with friends, or of course, reading. Boys do read as well, however, it appeared to me; not as much. They seek adventure and look for an outlet, which I felt could be given through a book that had adventure, along with mystery, as well as friendships and values. A place where they can focus their energy on.

OP: How did you get your book published?

Myrna: I decided to self-publish so looked into different publishing outlets. I wanted and needed someone to help me to get it published and marketed as I’m not in a position to do all of that. After reading through various publishing firms, I felt that Outskirts Press showed that they had the ideas and help which could meet my needs the best at this point of publishing, for the first time.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

Myrna: Readers between the ages nine to twelve are at the level of reading my book. Both boys and girls could be interested in the type of story line I have written.

OP: What is special about your book?

Myrna: My book is easy to read and is not overly long as well as has short chapters that will allow a new reader to set it down comfortably and go back after each chapter, if needed, making it easier for them to read.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

Myrna: I believe that the story itself is more interesting and relatable to both, boys and girls but boys especially; along with the mystery, spirit and adventure.

OP: Have you published any other books?

Myrna: I have written short stories but this is the first book I’ve published.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

Myrna: Yes. I hope to do a sequel as well.

OP: Thanks for your time, Myrna! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Myrna White’s gift for listening and her interest in people’s life stories led her naturally to a career in mental health. Now retired, she enjoys the company of her three children and six grandchildren, whose imagination inspires her lifelong love of writing. Myrna also enjoys gardening, watercolors, photography, and gatherings of friends and family.

Life in Ann’s World by Ladybug

Technology has created a wide variety of ways to reach audiences all over the world. It takes is a little thinking outside the box and you can market a self-published book in creative, affordable and impactful ways. Consider book tours! Tours are a great way to connect with your readers and technology has made them easier and more cost effective than ever!

Author Ladybug is taking her latest book Life in Ann’s World, on tour — a Virtual Book Tour with Outskirts Press. This will allow Ladybug to take her book into the far corners of the globe, all from the comfort of her own home! Keep an eye out for Ladybug’s book as she will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead!

Luckily for us, Ladybug was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Life in Ann’s World.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Life in Ann’s World. What is it about?

Ladybug: The story is in the view from a 12-year-old girl’s perspective. At the beginning of the book she contemplates about her life up to her present.

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

Ladybug: I got tired of almost every show you see these days or read about is another branch of law enforcement. There are other stories out there other than law enforcement. Don’t get me wrong some of the shows and stories you read are great, but I prefer a break from them. I can go in my living room right now and turn on the tv and there will only be some type of law show but, in the end, I wanted to create a story that the whole family could enjoy, I hope they do!

OP: How did you get your book published?

Ladybug: Outskirts press is a self-publishing company. I submitted my book for review, and they agreed to publish it. After paying a lot for having it published, it finally became published in May of 2018.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

Ladybug: It is my hope that all walks of life will enjoy my book. My intentions were to send people in a different reality, even if it is for a little while.

OP: What is special about your book?

Ladybug: Other than I wrote it? It is not a law story, it captures the imagination of the people reading it. I love a story where all the characters get along and work together to help with an imminent crisis.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

Ladybug: Towards the end of the story Ann’s friends are beginning to go their own separate ways. These things happen in real life as when young children become young adults and after high school these young adults will pursue college, work, family or all three. It is a time in their lives when major changes take place in their lives and Ann is no different. Ann’s changes are a little more obvious than real peoples’ lives, but I think everyone can relate to her and the fast pace of her life. Ann is always wanting her life to slow down but, for her it does not.

OP: Have you published any other books?

Ladybug: No, not yet.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

Ladybug: Maybe.

OP: Thanks for your time, Ladybug! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

After high school, Ladybug received an AA degree in business, but when she was younger, she used to go on tons of different adventures. Ladybug would carry her little dog in the basket on her bike wherever she went. She would go to the lake and lay there and watch the waves from the lake hit the shore and her dog would run around playing in and around the lake.

Peanut by David D. Bernstein

Technology has made it easier than ever to reach wider audiences no matter where they are in the world. All it takes is a little thinking outside the box and you can market a self-published book in creative ways, affordably and impactfully. This is where book tours come in: Tours are a great way to connect with your readers and technology has made them easier and cheaper than ever!

Take note from self-publishing Outskirts Press author, David D. Bernstein, who is taking his latest book, Peanut, on tour — a virtual book tour, that is. He will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so keep your eyes peeled to learn more about him and his book.

Luckily for us, David was kind enough to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we can give you a sneak peek into the mind of the creator of Peanut.

OP: Tell us a little bit about Peanut. What is it about?

David: My book looks at three major topics. How divorce affects a young girl named Wendy. What happens when an obsession becomes a part of Wendy’s life and finally how a homeless dog named Peanut helps Wendy overcome her problems and changes her life forever?

OP: Why did you decide to write this story?

David: I wrote this book for three reasons: most important reason was to honor our family dog named Tamber who died on October 22, 2017 she was in our lives for almost 16 years. This was very important for me to do this in her memory. The second reason I wrote this book was to help out children and families who have gone through divorce. It is a topic that is not fully explored or understood in the children book industry so “Peanut” had to be written to fill that gap. The third reason I wrote the book was to get more pets adopted by loving families. There are so many pets that need a new home. I will be trying to work with nonprofit organizations to get the word out to the world.

OP: How did you get your book published?

David: I went on the self-publishing route for this book, I chose Outskirts Press to help me on this project. It is my third book that I have published with them. They are very professional and helpful guides on this journey.

OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?

David: I believe the book can interest many people of all ages. This can include dog lovers, children, families that went through divorce. It also can be a great addition to professional offices that work closely with divorce and obsession. Overall this book can be read by many groups of people.

OP: What is special about your book?

David: I think this book is special because it was written from my heart and that is very rarely done these days, where most publishing companies care more about profit then quality. This is a very sad reality that authors have to face these days.

OP: What differentiates it from other books in the same category?

David: My book is different because it has more than one category it covers. It is not only a great picture book, but it also is a self-help book and much more.

OP: Have you published any other books?

David: Yes, I have three other books: a book of poetry from my high school to college years, a folk tale about how a boy goes into a fantasy world to cope with the death of his mom from cancer, it is called The Enchanted Rope. This book is about to be turned into a modern ballet done by children. My third book is called The Portal and it is a middle grade book about two boys who have to travel 101 years into the future to help alter the present. It is the first book in a trilogy.

OP: Do you plan to publish more?

David: I still have plans to publish my next two books in my trilogy and some more picture books in the near future.

OP: Thanks for your time, David! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

David D. Bernstein is a tennis instructor, psychic reader, and energy healer who has worked with children for many years in different settings. He’s the author of a book of poetry; a children’s book called The Enchanted Rope; and a middle grade novel, The Portal, the first book in the Cort Chronicles Trilogy. He also had several poems published in magazines and anthologies and is the recipient of five Editor Awards. Peanut is his second picture book. David is a proud uncle of two young boys.
