The experience of becoming published is like no other, and at Outskirts Press we like to celebrate our successes with equally unparalleled fun! We are excited to hear from our authors at all times, of course, but we are extra-excited to invite you to join us in sharing those experiences during our 6th Annual “Show Us Your Love” social media event and video contest. All you have to do to make yourself eligible to win our fabulous grand prize—a brand-new HP, 15.6-inch Touch-Screen Laptop Computer—is share a few of your reasons for loving Outskirts Press in a brief video!
Participating is easy! Here’s how it works:
- Grab your video camera, smartphone, iPad, or tech-savvy neighbor and record a brief video between 1 and 3 minutes long which demonstrates—creatively—your deep and abiding love for your book, your publishing experience, and Outskirts Press.
- Email your video file in an .mp4 or .mov format to love@outskirtspress.com. The contest is open from now until Friday, February 17th, so make sure to get your entries in before that time.
- We at Outskirts Press will share your video on our Facebook page, YouTube channel, Twitter feed, and Google+ page, increasing exposure for you and your book (Please Note: By submitting a video for this contest, authors grant Outskirts Press permission to post videos to our YouTube channel, on our website and other social media platforms for promotional purposes).
- The three finalists receiving the most “likes” on our Facebook page from among all the posted entries will be selected for a public vote on our blog to determine the winner from February 20th-27th. Be sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and elsewhere so you can “like” your favorite videos and visit our blog to vote!
- The winner of the free laptop computer will be announced via our blog on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Submit your video as early as you can! The sooner your video goes live, the more exposure you’ll receive and the more “likes” you can collect. Share the link to your video once we post it to our Facebook page with all of your friends, family members, fans, and social media followers! (And of course, don’t forget to “like” your own video.) Contests such as this one serve as valuable—and free!—promotion for your books, so we hope you have a chance to sit down and whip up a great video in the days to come!
