Self-Publishing Author Spotlight: K. Kalyaan Davis

We take great pride in celebrating the work of our successful self-publishing authors, and we do so each week through our Self-Publishing Author Spotlight. This week we highlight self-publishing author K. Kalyaan Davis, who has published three titles with Outskirts Press.

K. Kalyaan Davis has been writing most of her life and finally decided to share with the world one of the things she loves to do most, write poetry, children’s books and fiction. Learn more about Davis, her inspiration and her published works in this week’s Self-Publishing Author Spotlight.

Davis found inspiration while comforting friends who had experienced life shattering events. With deep empathy, her compassion is undeniable. To help others, she offered a listening ear, a hug, prayers and poetry. Davis felt that if she could help one person feel a little better through her written word then that is what she aimed to do.

About the Author:

K. Kalyaan Davis lives in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and 7-year-old American Pitt Bull Terrier. She has three wonderful children and four grandchildren. When not writing, Davis loves to teach individuals about our Creator, sing and study the Khmer (Cambodian) foreign language.

While writing her first book of poetry, Davis stated, “I loved seeing their reaction and feel them relate to words personalized for them. I saw their tears, pain and frustration then I felt their joy. I hope you enjoy the travels of life as you open your mind through poetry. May the words contained within help you feel better no matter what you are going through. The words I am sharing with you, I have shared with those I love.”

Whiney Pineycover (24)

Children are our most precious and valued possession and in Whiney Piney, the author explores the fact that children need guidance, clear direction and lots of love while parents need patience, understanding, diligence and lots of love for their children. Davis understands and expands on the notion that everyone wants well grounded, self-sufficient and good decision making children. Tell them you care and don’t assume they understand; give them hugs and kisses, protect them from harm and show them right from wrong. Whiney gets lots of love everyday and she wants children all over the world to have the same love and care.
