Today marks the beginning of the famous Book Expo America (BEA) trade show, America’s largest annual writing\publishing trade show and event, which runs now through Friday in New York City. Every year during the last week of May, the BEA welcomes more than 100,000 authors, publishers, agents and buyers from all over the world. While the attendance is international, the focus is distinctly American, with American books, publishers and authors receiving 
the main interest.
Far from a stuffy, snooty affair, the BEA trade show offers attendees a smorgasbord of vitally informative and entertaining conferences, exhibits, specials and even celebrity appearances from the likes of Julianne Moore, Nathan Lane, Alan Cumming, Martin Short, Stan Lee, Al Roker and Jason Segal (pictured, left) — and much more.
