Reach out to market a self-published book, virtually, with a Virtual Book Tour from Outskirts Press. It’s the quickest and least expensive way we know to get the word out about your book to a wide audience.
Self-publishing Outskirts Press author Amy Purser Carter is taking her own book, The Not So Wicked, Wicked Witch! on a virtual book tour so you can learn more about her and her journey. Amy will be featured on several blogs over the weeks and months ahead so stay tuned to learn more.
Amy took some time out to answer a few questions as the tour was getting started so that we could give you a sneak peek at the man behind The Not So Wicked, Wicked Witch!
OP: Tell us a little bit about The Not So Wicked, Wicked Witch! What is it about?
AC: It is about a witch who tries to live up to her witchy image but is kind, fun, mischievous, and loving, not to mention “not so wicked.” She is not your average, run-of-the-mill witch and has a heart of gold.
OP: Why did you decide to write this book?
AC: The idea came to mind in college; I always loved witches, but not bad ones or scary ones. So I created “the witch” with a special flair for fun and a love of happy things, including my favorite color, pink.
OP: How did you get your book published?
AC: I heard about Outskirts Press and contacted them to see if they were interested. Fortunately they were, and we started the process immediately! Sarah Markham, the illustrator, did an amazing job bringing the witch to life for me!
OP: What types of readers would be interested in this story?
AC: The book is for children ages 3 to 10, but also there has been an interest from women in the witch. I feel that it is in the character because we ladies all have a fun, mischievous side!
OP: What is special about your book? What differentiates it from other books in the same category?
AC: The fact that the witch isn’t evil or scary is so appealing. When reading to different groups at schools, the children all comment that they love her because she has a big heart and isn’t frightening. They also like the “sparkle” to the normal witch’s attire.
OP: Have you published any other books? Do you plan to publish more?
AC: Yes, I would like to have a sequel to the witch book. I have written several other rhyming books that I have not yet pursued with publishing.
OP: Thanks for your time, Amy! We look forward to learning more about you as you visit other bloggers!
