Fifty-five Colorado students will become published authors and artists as they are honored during the seventh annual Student Literary Awards for their literary or artistic achievements in two international competitions.
May 4, 2010 – Denver, CO – The Colorado Humanities and Outskirts Press today announced the publication of the “2010 Student Literary Awards Anthology: Winning Art, Poems and Letters by Colorado Students,” which will be revealed publicly on May 6, 2010 during the seventh annual Student Literary Awards at the Denver Public Library. The book is an 88 page, full-color literary collection of the winning entries in the annual “Letters About Literature” and “River of Words” contests, held by the Colorado Humanities and sponsored by Outskirts Press. Educators and family members will join in recognizing the winning students from across Colorado for their literary and artistic achievements.
Each winner will receive, among other prizes, a complimentary copy of the published anthology featuring their work. Additional copies will be available for purchase at the event for $23.95, with proceeds going toward the Colorado Humanities. Linda Ashman, noted speaker and winner of a past Colorado Book Award, will be Mistress of Ceremonies. Awards for winners in the “River of Words” competition will be presented by Colorado’s River of Words judge Justice Gregory Hobbs. Young Adult authors Denise Vega and Amy Ryan will present honors to the winners in the “Letters About Literature” competition.
