Survivor contestant “Coach” subject of new self-published book
Love him or hate him, there’s no doubt that “Coach” (aka Benjamin Wade) on this season’s edition of Survivor is a colorful character. And now he is the subject of a new novel published by author Tom Gauthier through Outskirts Press.
Book Description:
A Voyage Beyond Reason is a true-life adventure. In 1996, twenty-four year-old Benjamin Wade sets out on a solo voyage in a tiny sea kayak. His goal lies 6,000 miles away – and deep within his own soul.
The chance discovery of his journals, buried on a Colombian cliff above the sea, uncovers a mystery which took many years to finally solve. His journals tell of misery and elation, of triumph and failure, of insight and insanity.
Does the man make the journey, or does the journey make the man?
Follow the tiny kayak, and follow the mind of a young man set on a goal that no amount of torture can dissuade him from reaching, on a journey that brings him face to face with himself.

Colorado Book Award Finalists Announced
Congratulations to Outskirts Press author Irv Sternberg, who’s 2008 novel NEPTUNE’S CHARIOT is a finalist in this year’s Colorado Book Awards, sponsored by the Colorado Humanities/Colorado Center for the Book.
Finalists receive additional press exposure, compliments of the Colorado Humanities.
Book award winners will be announced this year at the Aspen Summer Words Literary Festival during the week of June 21 – June 26, in beautiful Aspen, Colorado.
A former journalist and public relations manager, Irv Sternberg is the Denver Post best-selling author of the popular Clint Jagger thrillers, Deadly Passage and Sakura’s Stratagem, under the pseudonym, Mark Irving. He is also the author of the Izzy Brand mystery, No Laughing Matter, under his own name. Neptune’s Chariot is his first historical novel. He and his wife live in Colorado.
“Outskirts Press came into my life at exactly the right time. Within 3 months they had published No Laughing Matter, which made The Denver Post bestseller list. When they published my next novel, Neptune’s Chariot became a bestseller, too. Outskirts Press will help you find your dream, especially if, like me, you hear the clock ticking and can’t afford to play the waiting game.”
Congratualtions, Irv, from all of us at Outskirts Press!
